The pie craze is sweeping the nation and the Cooking Channel is out to showcase it! The belief that "pies are the next cupcakes" is gaining momentum. Part of that sentiment is based on pie/cupcake similarities. Both are classic desserts with comforting associations that are great for virtually any occasion. But pies have the added benefit of regional distinction. Call it a road trip, call it an obsession, but we will crisscross the country "FOR THE LOVE OF PIE!"

Baker Position Available!

We at High 5 Pie are looking to hire a full time baker (approx. 35 hours weekly), experience a plus but not necessarily required. We are a busy, production heavy kitchen that requires someone who is efficient, confident, works well under tight deadlines and can uphold the high quality bar we set for our product! If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a somewhat flexible schedule and are able to work early mornings (4am!!) then we would love to hear from you!

If you aren't familiar with ifood.tv then man, are you missing out! It's an amazing website where you can make friends and talk about food, watch cooking videos of a vast variety and generally geek out on anything culinary. Really, what more could you ask for?

We love this website and are so proud to be part of it. The lovely folks over at iFood.tv shared with us a post they put up about the new High 5 Pie cookbook, Cutie Pies, and some info about our amazing and fearless leader, Dani, and we just couldn't resist sharing it with you!

Pie + Coffee = Love

We don't know about you, but we LOVE us some pie and coffee. It's just one of those things that go together, ya know? Like chocolate and peanut butter, broccoli and cheese, pickles and jam. Ok, we made that last one up.

High 5 Pie + Caffe Vita = Super <3

Beginning this Saturday September 10th, we will be hosting pairing events once a month here at High 5. From 2-4pm we will be set up around our round table in the cafe, sampling out pies that are paired with some super tasty coffee from the ever so lovely folks at Caffe Vita. Come on by and sample some pie and coffee, learn about beans and brewing equipment and get your first look at the new High 5 cookbook, Cutie Pies!

Party Time!

It's that time of year again, Capitol Hill Block Party is almost here! We at High 5 Pie will be operating on a special schedule so that we can serve up the pie love and party with you! Also, on Sunday the 24th Between the hours of 4 and 8pm you can check out the DJ sets of local bands The Pharmacy and Tacocat from 4-8pm. Pie and music, is there anything better?

Calling all pie-loving, hard-working, flexible rockstars, High 5 Pie is hiring, and soon! Do you thrive in a fast paced, high production environment? Enjoy working with a team but also confident in holding down the fort solo should the need arise? Well if this is sounding more and more like the person you see in the mirror then we want to hear from you!


We are looking to hire someone with kitchen experience that can work at least 30 hours a week and possibly more. This position calls for some early morning shifts (4am) and midday shifts as well (10am), weekdays and weekends. We are a busy, production heavy kitchen that requires someone who is efficient and confident, working well under deadlines and maintaining the quality of our products.

Well, Pride Weekend is here and now with the news coming out of New York, it feels extra exciting! Whatever your plans for the weekend, Capitol Hill Pride Festival, Pride Parade, we hope you have a wonderful weekend and would love to see your beautiful faces at the shop. We're decked out in rainbow, feelin' good and ready to share the pie love! After all, you can't spell PRIDE without PIE ;)!

Man oh man, what a great time we're having over here at High 5! We've enjoyed a lot of things in the last couple of months. Making our Cooking Channel debut on Unique Sweets, mentioned in Sunset Magazine for our pie pops and jars (and doubly exciting, Fuel Coffee had a great mention as well!), People Magazine featured our uber tasty Raspberry Chocolate Mint Whip pie, The Food Network paid us a visit...I could go on but I think you get the idea ;) Great things are happening here and we are having a ton of fun doing what we do best, making our pies with lots of love and sharing them with you!

So now as we turn the corner of Spring and head towards Summer, albeit slowly but surely, we want to share with all of you pie lovers the next best thing in our world. Are you ready for it? Say it with me:

PIE SHAKES!!!

Mhmm, you are reading this right! Pie shakes have made their debut in our shop just in time for summer and we are oh so stoked about our newest creations. Who doesn't love a slice of pie with a scoop of ice cream on top? Well, we took that idea one step further and threw those 2 things in a blender, added a bit of milk and instantly fell in love with what is sure to be one of the best treats during the upcoming Seattle summer.

Seriously. A peanut butter and jelly pie shake? Count us in!

To make these delectable treats we use the amazing Bluebird ice cream in either Snickerdoodle or Vanilla Bean, a bit of milk and a slice of pie of your choosing. That's right! You can choose a slice of any flavor of pie you'd like and we will create an amazing concoction for you! Fancy an apple pie shake? How about a slice of peach pie in your cup of blended goodness? Cherry almond, blueberry lemon, marionberry, banana cream, coconut cream...honestly, there are so many flavors to choose from you could have a different shake every day of the week.

So come on over, pick out a slice and let us create a shake for you that your taste buds will thank you for!
