Can you believe it's Christmas???!!!

Where did the time go?!  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!  We've been busy making lots of pies for holiday special orders, and it's been a blast.  Also, on December 15th, High 5 Pie celebrated it's 1st birthday...whoohoo!  What a great year!

We've been getting some great press lately, too...Check us out in the December issue of Seattle Magazine, Sunset Magazine, and Fuel is mentioned in Seattle Metropolitan mag too!  Next up is a tv appearance this coming Wednesday, Dec 30, where we'll be making a pie live on the morning news!  Tune in and check it out...oh  man I hope I don't totally fumble! 

So here comes 2010, and we're excited.  We are currently developing a couple new seasonal fruit flavors as well as a new savory, too, to introduce in late January.  And speaking of late January, get ready for NATIONAL PIE DAY, JANUARY 23RD!!!  Stay tuned for specials....

So Much Going On...Fun!

Ok it's true, I've been horribly neglecting this sweet little blog I started as my foray into the 21st century...gotta get on it!  Lots of new stuff going on at High 5 Pie, here we go...

1.  Holiday Flavors:  Pumpkin, Sweet Potato Pie, Caramel Pecan.  Place Thanksgiving orders by Monday, Nov 23 via email: dani@high5pie.com or at any Fuel.

2.  Pies make great gifts!  Just think what a hit you'll be at your next office party, holiday dinner, birthday, or movie night with friends when you show up with Cutie Pies or Piejars for all!  Having a solo night in?  What could be better than a good movie and a 7" pie all to yourself...oh yeah, I speak from experience on this one!

3.  LikeMe:  So I've never been one to partake in Facebook or MySpace as I'm pretty computer illiterate...and I know I'd get super addicted and I gots to bake some pies with my time! :)  BUT, LikeMe is a cool site and I made a profile on it, check it out.  This site allows you to see what people you know (or don't know but can relate to!) recommend in categories such as restaurants, bars, shopping, parks, etc etc.  It's pretty cool!...and even I can figure out how to operate it!

Don't forget it IS peak pie season...so enjoy lots and lots of pie!  I'm going to have some freshly baked Pumpkin Cutie Pies right now....

Double Blackberry Pie recipe on Daily Candy!

Our very own Double Blackberry Pie recipe was featured on DailyCandy.com!  This is truly one of my Grammy's favorites...that's right, the same Grandma Molly who I owe our amazing pie crust recipe to!  Check it out, just in time for holidays...

And the New Seasonal Flavor is......

SPICED PLUM WALNUT!  Look for it THIS coming week and grab it up, I think it's one of our best yet!  Plums are one of my personal favorites, and this recipe we came up with really takes the cake...or the pie!  With just the right amount of sweet and the right amount of spice, the plums burst with flavor and you can almost taste autumn.  The walnuts add a nice crunch and a saltiness to almost round out the whole flavor experience.    Lots of fun stuff going on at High 5 Pie these days.  

In other news, we just announced our plans to open the very first High 5 Pie shop!  A retail storefront will allow us to expand our offerings to include breakfast pies/flipsides, lunchtime savory options, and way more fruit and cream pie flavors as well...we're so excited!  The location has yet to be finalized, but I'll keep you posted.  Want more info?  Email me at dani@high5pie.com.

And one last thing before I go for now....we're ramping up our Special Events packages!  High 5 Pie has a host of options for your birthday parties, kids' parties, Tailgate parties, Weddings, meetings, and more!  Just email me for details and plan a pie party! :)

Nothing Says Summer Like....

SMORES!  That's right...brand new Smores Flipsides are hittin the Fuel shelves tomorrow, Wednesday!  And they're amazing, seriously.  Just picture yourself sitting by the campfire on a lazy, warm summer evening enjoying your favorite outdoor treat...now wrap that up in a some delicious pie crust and take it to go!  Summer Fun on your way to work!

Heat Wave A-Comin'!!!

Ok so it's no secret that I love my coffee. I have it with me at all times (iced!) And it has even been dubbed my 'trusty sidekick.' Yes, I may even love coffee more than my Blackberry! But here's the deal: sometimes even I need a different, call it 'special', drink. It's Hot Outside!

Dessert Walk this Saturday!

This Saturday is the Annual Seafair Kiddie Parade in Wallingford, all along 45th...lots of fun for all! AND it is the kickoff for the very first Wallingford "Dessert Walk" from 5:30-9pm featuring lots of delicious treats (like High 5 Pie at Fuel!) from your favorite Wallingford spots. Come for the day, stay for the evening sweets!

What a perfect pair:  pie and ice cream!  Molly Moon's is featuring a High 5 Pie Sundae: an Apple or Berry Crumb Cutie Pie topped with a scoop of your favorite ice cream flavor...how All-American is that, and just in time for the 4th!  High 5 Sundaes can be found at both Molly Moon's locations, Capitol Hill and Wallingford.  What a treat!
